Hello, first post so please be nice

recently moved to a new building at work and decided to purchase some Trendnet ip310pi cameras which were a breeze to set-up.

is there anyway to get the cameras to save recordings to freeNas using ftp?

i've correctly set up ftp service on the server as i can log into the ftp and see files ive added etc. The software provided by trendnet does support ftp services. I have also tried to set up so the software saves to the network via a windows network drive setup on the explorer but no luck

http://www.trendnet.com/emulators/TV-IP310PI_V1.0R/doc/page/home_basic.asp?1404228160747 this is the emulator just in case anyone wanted to see the GUI

If they use standard ftp protocol and not something claiming to be ftp then it should work.

I know several users *have* setup their cameras for ftp and it does work. Unfortunately that's all the advice I can give and you are pretty much on your own to figure out any further details.

Did you try with a Samba share with ACL set to Everyone for Owner, User, System, Group + no access restrictions on Samba?

setup a shared directory as if you were acting in Windows: it's very simple. Then, tell the camera to save the videos to that folder.

i have tried that, i set up the network drive for the windows to find it and you can get onto the folder and add files and that will show up on a different device when getting onto it, when i use the software and tell it to save files to said network drive instead of C://somepath it doesnt show the networked drive at all
