Follow this bug report for any updates. Btw, FreeNAS 9.2.0 introduced a sophisticated management API, I guess it won't be long and we might see native management apps for mobile platforms.

Yeah, not likely. Why not ask IE to work like everyone else's does? LOL.

Of course, you might have better luck getting Firefox on the Surface.. oh yeah.. that's not a good option either, huh? :P

Notice Microsoft makes IE and Microsoft makes the Suface. Both are screwing you over.. your IT guy figure this out yet???

It won't let you install something else like firefox? If so, that really sucks.

@warri - thanks, yeah I saw that bug report and wondered if anything would be done about it. I'll keep an eye on it. Also good to know about the management API, I might have to poke into creating an app for that.

@dlavigne - unfortunately not because it's the Surface RT version which runs Windows 8.1 RT and does not have any browsers other than IE on it... so yeah that part sucks.

Nope. Microsoft locked down their Surfaces so you can only install "approved" apps. Kind of like an iphone or an android that can't do side-loading.

Which truly makes those MS 'anti-chromebook' ads even more of a lie....they tout the ability to install real applications when in reality, their RT store is about as filled with gold as a Blackberry market.
