I am looking for a website (or tutorial or something else) where I can read about to install FreeNAS on a computer with one harddisk and no bootable USB-drive.
On several websites I read howto's, but, I guess, these howto's refers to versions prior to FreeNAS 8.

Please, who can help me?

just boot with the bootable CD of freenas. You will see the hard disk. Just install on that. Its pretty straight forward.

Hi,

yes, FreeNAS is now installed to that one hard drive (1TB) but I can't allocate the free remaining storage to a volume after the installation. The Disks List is empty in the web-frontend...

I tried manually to create a volume but this didnt works:
[root@freenas] ~# gpart show
=> 63 1953525105 ada0 MBR (931G)
63 1930257 1 freebsd [active] (942M)
1930320 63 - free - (31k)
1930383 1930257 2 freebsd (942M)
3860640 3024 3 freebsd (1.5M)
3863664 41328 4 freebsd (20M)
3904992 1949620176 - free - (929G)

=> 0 1930257 ada0s1 BSD (942M)
0 16 - free - (8.0k)
16 1930241 1 !0 (942M)

[root@freenas] ~# gpart add -t freebsd-zfs ada0
gpart: index '5': No space left on device

has anybody an idea?

You cant use a boot drive for anything except booting. I believe this is in the manual and faq. Its also explained in dozens of places in the forum.
