hello everybody

i have intalled on my NAS a new PCI ethernet gigabyte because the one on my mobo is only 100 megabyte.

i had switched lan cable from mobo to PCI but truenas do not recognize the PCI. i had tried to disable the mobo one by the bios but i have no solution.

how could i do? i have to reinstall the all OS? and if i have, how can i save the actual configuration?

thanks to all!!!!!

bye

There's not enough info to help troubleshoot. What model of new NIC did you install?

That's a Realtek based card, and one that's been problematic for both FreeBSD and Linux in the past.

This is not a good card to have used.

If you happen to have an Intel Desktop CT card available, it will work much better.

is there a list of PCI card compatible with TRUENAS? I just bought it and maybe I can replace it

Yes, I just told you: buy an Intel Desktop CT card.

Lots of other cards might work. You can try a different Realtek card, but it is unlikely to work well. There are lots of cards that sort-of work, or kinda work, or work pretty well. The one that is known to work very well, for normal operations, for vlans, for link aggregations, for all sorts of uses, are the Intel cards, because Intel has a very sharp team of people developing drivers for FreeBSD and Linux, which means that the drivers work very well, and the cards are very good cards.

The funny thing about it is that a cheap Intel Desktop CT card works better than most of the specialized pricey "server" cards from other vendors.

They don't seem to be very clear on model information, but this one appears to be a card that would work well for 1Gbit.
