Is this what it does?

The Import Disk function takes all of the data stored on a disk coming from another operating system and places it in a selected ZFS pool (which must therefore already exist in your TrueNAS server).

After the data is confirmed to have fully imported, you could wipe and re-purpose the disk for use in a ZFS pool.
