Everything is working great with the current install. However I dont seem to have connection to check for updates for Freenas and Plugins and I'm wondering what I could do to check and reestablish that connectivity if I had had it before and don't seem to have changed anything in particular.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Ping

From terminal on server: Can you ping your default gateway? Can you ping a website by ip address (for example 8.8.8.8)? Can you ping a site by domain name (for example, Google.com).

Same sort of result with google. com
Forgive my ignorance - what does that mean?
Thanks again

When you say "same sort of result" what does that mean? Exactly the same result?

If you can successfully ping an internet routed website, it means you can reach the internet. By being able to ping 8.8.8.8, we know that your gateway is most likely configured corrected. If you can successfully ping www.google.com, it means your DNS is likely configured correctly.

This means that the problem is quite possibly on the FreeNAS website's side.

That means you have internet connectivity.

When you try to update, what error do you receive?

Thanks Nic2253 (yes exactly same result with google.com) and depasseg - ok I get it.
The button to install available updates is permanently greyed out. When I manually check for updates it give me a no updates available dialog very quickly.
It cant seem to see the plugins online. It does see the installed plugins, plex, though.
Thanks again for the help

If there are no updates, the install button will be grayed out. That is behaving as expected.

What do you mean by "it can't seem to see the plugin online"? Are they missing from the list? Please post a screenshot of what you mean.
