HP S700 120GB SSD - Good for boot?

Newegg is having a combo deal where you get 2 of these for $66. Are these any good for mirrored boot SSDs instead of using USB drives?

Yes! Just one will be more reliable than most USB drives.

Almost any SATA SSD will be more reliable than USB thumb drives.

If you're running the config backup script, you shouldn't need a mirrored boot drive at all unless super-high availability is a requirement. I can understand at that price, it's not a big deal to do it, but it is really only helping you to avoid the need to reinstall and restore your latest config, which should be no more than an hour of work, but if you have it, you're powering an extra drive and doubling the writes every time for years while it runs in a mirror.
