How to Install Lan driver in 8.2

Hello,

I already postet this question in the German Area of this Board, but I guess here mioght be more traffic and I could get helped faster.

So I ave a freeNAS 8.2R running and my Mainboard only supports 100Mbit LAN. So I bought this TP LINK TG-2468 v2.1 GBit LAN card. Freenas doenst automaticly uses the card.

What do I have to do? disable onboard LAN in Bios? Install some extra drivers? Please be so kind and help an Freenass noob to get some real nice network speed... :)

FreeNAS doesn't detect it? Well, it wouldn't be surprised, I think TP Link uses Realtek chipset, so you might get better luck with FreeNAS 8.3 BETA2/3, which brings newer realtek driver.

Either way, realtek chipset are really bad performance wise IMHO, buy an Intel card, it is very well supported.

have a look at freebsd.org :
http://www.freebsd.org/releases/8.2R/hardware.html
and figure out which ethernet boards are supported for this release. THEN go and purchase

As regard for Intel boards ( which usually works well ) here is what hardware says :
