How to config powerd?

I'm looking for ways to further reduce my server's baseline power consumption.

I've managed to enable my drives' APM 128 mode, but I'm finding it difficult to figure out how powerd is configured. I can enable/disable powerd in settings, but according to the man page there're several config options for powerd.

How can I find out how powerd is configured in FreeNAS, and how I can configure it myself?

The FreeNAS User Manual tells you about the Powerd option and what it does, although it's not a very strong description. All it says is it sets the CPU frequency, nothing more. If it does more, you might need to dig into the code to figure that out or have someone offer up the answer or do a Google search.
