How to change DNS address on freenas

the dns is automatically 127.0.0.1, i changed it to the Active directory address.But it automatically changing to the localhost again and again
im also tried using ssh and resolve.conf

Other thing is i couldn't add active directory to my Freenas box

Which FreeNAS version? Are you perchance using the directory controller feature? That's deprecated ...

You can connect a current FreeNAS to AD with the Windows server as the DC. The deprecated feature was running the DC on the FreeNAS. Which implies using 127.0.0.1 as the DNS server address. That's why I asked ...
