Every time, I boot truenas scale using WOL.
The boot speed is roughtly slow, after I add truecharts catalog.
Is there a option to disable refresh the catalogs?

+1 that's what hold me back from installing TrueNas
I don't run my nas all day for power consumption reason of most of the time doing nothing (i mean, it's an AMD FX, not the power efficient-est cpu)

Truecharts catalog is very interesting but for me it's an issue, every boot is slow and i can hear fans from my fx ramping up because of that for + 5 mins, would be better if we could manually update and use "cache" to display apps

truenas is a storage appliance server.
it is designed, tested, and intended to be online 24/7.
it takes forever to startup *for a reason*, just like any other server. 5-15 minutes is pretty typical for any server.
they are testing that things work, starting up a ton of services, making sure those start correctly etc, etc.
as neither of you have followed the forum rules....it's difficult to say much more, but I am pretty sure an "AMD FX" is not supported hardware...

Yes but is there a way to delay gui startup and or catalog sync until network is up? (You may have guessed that I'm running a VM on scale and need it up first before catalog sync.)

Still it is better to update it manually. I disabled all truecharts removed ix storage but I always get emails with faults that it can not sync. Should be a way to disable it entirely by just a button
