I have motherboard Asus P5VD2 that has only two SATA connectors. I decided to increase the amount of discs by adding a SATA controller SIL3132 see C in PCI-E 1x. However, disks connected in this SATA controller are simply not recognized. But, if I put the controller in the PCI-e 16x slot, works great.

Is it normal?

Thanks a lot!

Problem solved. This Asus motherboard does not allow the e-SATA-and PCI-1x operate simultaneously. By default, the e-sata connection is enabled. To enable the PCI-e 1x is necessary to change the jumper on the board.
