Hello all,
I'm hoping to enter the FreeNAS world and start learning the OS and networking, file sharing, servers, etc, in general a bit. I generate a lot of data from imaging, both terrestrial and astro. I'm looking to build a home server to act as a file sharing server with redundancy to keep images and video files and to serve out our media we like to stream (local content AVI's, music, etc). So, I'm trying to learn what hardware will be appropriate and after reviewing several options for an operating system I think FreeNAS will be the ideal platform.
