Hi everyone.
I am migrating from an old Synology box to a DIY NAS and I'm a newbie with ZFS and Jails.
I started with Network Storage using a couple of small boxes to share a printer and a USB drive (NS-K330 and WLX-652 devices running SnakeOS).
Some years later I could get my hands on a used Synology USB Station 2, and that was a gamechanger.
After that, I got a Synology DS112 (single bay with an eSata to expand) that is in use up to date.
With the Synology boxes, I learned the value of a well-configured NAS, but always wondered if that could be improved without breaking the bank - Synology boxes are expensive.
Now I got an HP ProDesk600 to repurpose and I'll put some new drives in and begin my journey on ZFS.
Wish me luck!
