Recently had the Read Only issue. Great fun. I was connected to a share with windows and everything was fine. I was copying files up, when suddenly i started getting the dreaded "you need permission to perform this action". In troubleshooting i right click and create a new folder. it makes the folder, but i also get the message "you need permission" this happens 3 times leaves New Folder and (2) and (3).
In troubleshooting i realize that my ACL for this share has everyone with full controll added to the end of the standard acl. I remove that entry. THEN i find the docs on the ReadOnly issue and i find that my pools are set to read only. resolve that and everything is working fine. except i can't remove those 3 folders.

then i'm looking at TrueNas for this message, to make sure i'm using the right verbage and i realise that my pools are Read Only AGAIN

so HELP. what causes this read only? I can figure out how to remove the folders, but how can i stop this from happening?
