Help with failing disks

Hi, I know these types of questions have been asked thousands of times before but I have a scenario I've not seen before.
I have a pool with some aging 6TB disks - they've been up for around 6 years so are likely nearing their end. However, I launched the WebUI a couple of weeks ago and noticed the pool had a degraded status. I checked the disks and noticed one of the 6TB disks had failed both a short and long SMART test. I ran the tests again to confirm and noticed this attribute:

Code:
200 Multi_Zone_Error_Rate 0x0008 200 200 000 Old_age Offline - 3

I then purchased two 16TB drives to replace this mirror and installed them into the server, but upon reboot, the pool status went back to healthy.
I've run multiple short and long tests on the failing drive and the short tests now pass and the long test continues to fail - the attributes have not changed.
It's been two weeks now while I burn in the new disks the pool status remains healthy without error...which is puzzling since there had been an error a couple of weeks ago. I've also checked the other drive in the mirror and that now also has a Multi_Zone_Error_Rate of 1 while both long and short test pass as success

Neither drive has pending sectors or offline uncorrectable.

Are these drives actually dead and should I continue with my plan to replace them? Here are the smart reports for each drive:

Are these drives actually dead and should I continue with my plan to replace them?
Multi zone errors aren't great and both drives have started to show them.

You can keep an eye on it for a bit and if the numbers stay where they are, you can run with them in the pool. ZFS will ensure no data is corrupted (although you haven't said if you are mirrors, RAIDZ1 or RAIDZ2, so I can't say how much protection you really have against it).

Be ready to replace them both at relatively short notice if those numbers increase.

Thanks for the response. The two drives are mirror so if both are showing signs of failure I'll replace them with the 16TB once the burn in is finished
