First post!! :)

So i recently updated to freenas 9.3 from 9.2 (release) and noticed that my jails directory hadn't imported properly as part of the upgrade. The Jails had not appeared under storage tab in freenas but i could still access them, configure them and run them under the jails tab so i never really worried about getting the jails storage to appear under the storage tab. Since then i recently went to download a plugin and have now noticed that all my existing jails have gone (including the files) and all thats left is the new plugin jail (also the jails storage has now appeared under the storage tab). The weird thing is that the jails must still be running.. i can access plex, coutchpotato and all the other jails / plugins i had running but cant see the files anywhere!? please help im scared to reboot the server incase it case it doesnt come back.

Cheers

Well it sounds to me like something is messed up with the config file. Almost certainly, there is no danger to your files or jails, and the problem is that the FreeNAS itself is confused about what you have.

Can you try System->Update->Verify Install and see what happens? The "correct" result is to get no errors, or possibly one error on "resolv.conf".

Thanks DrKK

I ran the verify and nothing came back as an issue (apart from the resolve.conf one). i do think something is screwy with the jails config, but my main concern is where are the jail files located. Previous to installing the headphones plugin my Jails were located under /mnt/Volume1/Jails... but since installing headphones the Jails directory only contains the headphones install, all other jails (plex, couch, sonarr) are gone.. but they are still running as i can access them via their web portals. Its like installing headphones has wiped the Jails directory as it was not previously aware of it (due to it not appearing under the storage tab).. but then why are they still running. I'd love to know how i can find them.. maybe a unix find command? Im a bit of a noob when it comes to cmd line stuff

Cheers

Well, if you drop to the command line, and just type "mount", you should be able to see every mounted filesystem, including any jails that are there, and where they are located.

Also, you can type "warden list", which should tell you how many jails your appliance thinks you have. Let's start with that.

ok so i ran the warden list command and it brought back that only the headphones jail is running.. but if i run mount its saying that all my other jails /plugins have mounted storage but then when i try to cd into them they dont exist.

e.g. /mnt/Volume1/File1/Downloads on /mnt/Volume1/Jails/transmission_1/media/Download - but it doesnt exist :(
