Build FreeNAS-8.2.0-RELEASE-p1-x64 (r11950)
Platform Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
Memory 16287MB

GUI and CLI report not issues with the pool.

Hello, I have 3x 2Tb in a mirrored with a spare configuration, which netted me ~1.7-1.9TB of mirrored storage. The box is attached to a domain so I can use the domain admin/user permissions. I got some issues with permissions on one of the top level backup folders and I ended up not being able to delete anything via Windows. Which, while not okay, was not that big of a problem. I then created a new folder and all permissions worked as intended. I started moving the data and re-assigned our backup software to the new location. All was working fine. And today I decided to get rid of the old sub-folders of the one with the bad permissions and started deleting them one by one. I used CLI and I am certain I did not do anything stupid with rm -rf as I would simply use the up arrow to recall the last command and change the name to a different subfolder. Ex. rm -rf /mnt/Backup630/Office_Backup/BadFolderPermissions/Subfolder1. Executing this command eliminates Subfolder1. Pressing the up arrow key I'd change Subfolder1 to Subfolder2 (if the name is sub folder 2, I'd do ........./BadfolderPermissions/"Sub Folder 2" and it eliminates it without any issues). I disabled the Recycle option for this exercise as I did not want to go and delete them twice.

All of a sudden, while transferring one of the last few remaining folders from the one with the bad permissions to the new one, it popped a message saying "destination folder not available" and stopped the transfer of data (was doing this under Windows). Which was odd. What was even weird is that now the size of the volume is reported as not ~1.7-1.9Tb but 571GB. I wish I'd taken a photo of the diskspace reporting tool before I exported and reimported the pool but it was a showing a slope, receding from 930GB to the 571GB (so there must have been another drop from 1.7-1.9TB prior to me finding out about it) that it is now with a few steps inbetween. I have no idea what's going on. I tried exporting and reimporting the pool, rebooted but nothing. It now shows 571 as the total storage of that volume. My thoughts are that the space that I was freeing up is... well getting erased and I have not idea how. It is as if the volume manager reduces the volume size when I delete a folder proportionally to its size. I am pretty certain one of the folders was close to 200GB and the others were around 150GB so that would account for those.

Any ideas?
