I work at the University of Utah. We purchased an x20 with TrueNAS. I'm currently tasked with creating an off-site backup. I've looked at HashBackup and have read the following thread a bit. https://www.ixsystems.com/community/threads/anyone-using-hashbackup.46803/
I've played a little with FreeNAS in a VM to see what it was like. I'd love to be able to put it on an old Mac Pro (can't remember what model, it was a tower). I created an installer but couldn't get it to boot. I haven't found time to trying the custom EFI boot loader, rEFInd, which is my next step.
