I've used FreeNAS years ago, and went the way with a Synology for a while. The unit still works great, but has maxed out it's potential and decided to go back to FreeNAS after doing some research (and continual research) for the extended benefits it offers. Mostly want to fill my immediate need of file storage NFS/CIFS to my devices and server, but do want to implement NextCloud, Sabnzbd, sonarr, Zoneminder storage, and Virtual Machine Storage.
