So have you installed FreeNAS yet or are you still in the research phase?

Have not installed yet, I'm doing a lot of reading and watching of videos while I build the box. I almost have the box built, PSU, MB, HDs, Vid-Card, PCIe-SATA card is installed, I'm planning where I want the hard-drive plugged in what SATA ports on the MB and PCIe card. After doing more reading I just found out the MB I bought has a Realtek NIC - NEW THREAD HERE).

That's the best way to go. Read and understand as much as you can before you commit to the hardware etc. Good luck. Let us know if you have questions.

Still working on the box and reading the FreeNAS® 11.0-U3 User Guide.

Looks nice. Once you finalize everything, tie those cables up together for a neat look.
