Hi,

I have installed Ubuntu as a VM on TrueNAS-12.0-U4. As far as I can tell everything is working properly,
  • I can VNC into it using TrueNAS web interface.
  • I can ssh into it using my laptop.
My problem is that I cannot VNC into the VM using VNC client. I am using my TrueNAS ip address and VNC port of the VM; <TrueNAS ip address>:VM_port. I was wondering if I am missing something obvious.

Thanks,
Kourosh

Have you tried <VM IP>:<VM VNC port>?

Hi,

Thank you for your message. Yes I have tried both.
  • With <VM IP>:<VM VNC Port> I get connection failed error message.
  • With <TrueNAS IP>:<VM VNC Port>, it asks for my password, and after I enter it just keep on “Connecting ...” without any resolution.
Thanks

OK, then try fiddling with the resolution for the VNC device.

It did not work. It seems that the VNC client cannot connect to the VM.
