Hardware Monitoring

Hi,

I have a DL120 G6 and a p212 smart array with 4 SATA disk at 2TB each. In windows and Linux you can install insight management agents so that you can monitor the hardware via SNMP.

My goal is to be able to monitor the array, memory etc. with NAGIOS/OP5 monitoring software. Since the NAS will be in a datacenter far from my office location I really need this feature.

Has any of you had any experience with this?

It's my understanding that the alert system for 9.2.1 has been refactored to allow for integration with monitoring software (see #3858 and the resources mentioned in this commit). However, this API has not been documented yet.

Regarding SNMP, the available MIB locations are listed here and additional MIBs could be added to /usr/local/share/SNMP/mibs.
