Hi...
This is a bit of experiment and you might not see the benifit or as cost effective solution but here goes my question.
Environment.
1. Dell R720 with intel dual port fibercard (hardware iSCSI capable) and quad port copper ethernet (EtherChannel) - Backup Server
2. Dell R510 with intel dual port fibercard only (hardware iSCSI capable) - FreeNAS 8.2
Proposeal
Dediate FreeNAS to Backup Server only as Hardware iSCSI providing D2D libarary
Question.
Would I be able to setup R720 Backup server (Copper) to the domain network and dedicate hardware iSCSI (Fiber) to FreeNAS
note.
Fiber connection will be direct R720 fiber to R510 fiber (No fiber switch in between)
Any comments or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
