You could quantify that as it seems like a throw away comment with no justification as to why the PSU could be better or whats wrong with older hardware?
The FreeNAS box i have at the moment is on a n54L and is basically never really CPU taxed. I also need to make sure it doesnt draw more than 250w at peak as ill need another UPS which I'm trying not to spend money on
I don't RZ1 with large drives, its just asking for trouble especially when one fails and you need a rebuild. Im merely looking not for a replication server but a whole backup system i can just drop the drives and USB stick into in the unlikely event of a failure of hardware on my primary box.
I already backup my data to an external disk thats then checksummed and stored offsite
