Hello,

I was playing with SMB shares and creating/deleting datasets while organizing my NAS. I noticed the error when I was unlocking an encrypted dataset inside an encrypted dataset. It may not be related since it's only "when" I saw the warning.

Thank you for whoever can explain this to me!

Code:

Thank you for the follow up. It seems to happen in conjunction with this bug where entering in a dataset in an SMB share and pressing back returns this permission error even though my permissions are correctly setup. I can click again on TRUENAS under Network and then access all my SMB shares normally. This behaviour only happened to me in Scale whereas in Core it didn't.

As I mentioned this was a bug that we fixed in upstream package. CORE and SCALE (bluefin) use different samba versions.

I have a variation of this:

Code:
Core files for the following executables were found: /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Plex Tuner Service (Tue Mar 7 09:08:08 2023). Please create a ticket at https://ixsystems.atlassian.net/ and attach the relevant core files along with a system debug. Once the core files have been archived and attached to the ticket, they may be removed by running the following command in shell: 'rm /var/db/system/cores/*

But the directory doesn't exist:

ls: cannot access '/usr/lib/plexmediaserver': No such file or directory

Not really a variation. In non-enterprise products we generate alerts any time a corefile is generated. This can happen for quite a lot of reasons.

In this case, it's a jailed application that crashed. These should be generating corefile alerts.

Hm it checks out, I have systemd-nspawn container running plex inside. Can we "non-enterprise" users turn this off?

I just got this error today after creating and deleting a few datasets. How do we generate a system debug? Any advice in March 2024?

Code:
 Warning
Core files for executables have been found in /var/db/system/cores/.Please open the shell, copy any core files present in /var/db/system/cores/ and then generate a system debug. Next, create a ticket at https://ixsystems.atlassian.net/ and attach the core files and debug. After creating the ticket, the core files can be removed from the system by opening shell and entering 'rm /var/db/system/cores/*'.

This is in the /var/db/system/cores folder:

Code:
'core.smbd[192\x2e168\x2e1\x2e.0.7011b436983a4296a6c36fa4c154fe27.539045.1710885602000000.zst'
