I know this topic hasn't been edited in a while, but I'm not seeing the same. I THOUGHT I had a mirror of my boot drives (both 8GB flash drives) but I too am seeing the mountroot issue.
I tried finding a "unix live" iso that I could boot that would have ZFS support but haven't found one yet. But I did find an older flash drive, that I had considered to be "failing" that was able to boot my freenas system, but I'm sure it's a rev or two back.
What I'm hoping is that I can repair the non-booting flash drives, with unix utilities on the bootable one, and then go back to using them. My problem is my lack of unix knowledge. I am, however very techie and support windows and macs for a living, so clear, but techie answers/hints can go a long way without explanation.
Mostly, I'm trying to figure out how to FSCK the two partitions on the bootable flash drives, and if necessary, have gpart[ed] repair the partition table.
I do see that when booting another unix, I can see two partitions on the primary flash drive, the first one being 512MB and the second just the remainder. I can't mount either as they get reported as being "zfs_member" and the Ubuntu/Linux doesn't know anything about zfs.
So, how do I determine the flash drive device name after inserting it, and what commands would you suggest I run on y booted Freenas, to potentially repair those drives?
Thanks so much!
