Emby itself working great. Working on problem of Emby not fetching subtitles suggests it does not have WRITE access to the shows/movies folder. media folder/subfolders owner is media and group media which both have write access.
Emby running as user emby uid 989 in iocage jail. Freenas user added as emby uid 989 and added to group media.
Unless i'm incorrect this should allow emby write access to the media directories and subdirectories to put the subtitle files.
I'm trying to eliminate the obvious to look elsewhere. Windows version of emby was used with the exact same show and episode to confirm subtitle fetching would function so I would know I was comparing apples and apples. It did.
