Hello

Scenario: 1 server cPanel with jetbackup that made backup throught ftp to truenas repository

We use this on many server, but on 1 of this we have any issue.

Job run correctly exept for 1 account, any night job give error, same error.

cPanel and jetbackup support tell that problem in on ftp server repository.. but we don't found any issue.

The error on jetbackup log is "[08 November 2022 04:59:43 AM +0100] [DEBUG] mirror: xxx@xxx: Fatal error: max-retries exceeded
The transfer to destination star at 04:27:42 and exit at 04.59:43

On truenas we have set unlimited "max connection" and other settings.

Any suggest for check if truenas side is all ok? or to found issue?

Thanks

Hello,

This error is most commonly found when opening a new FTP connection without closing idle connections. Typically the solution to this would be to increase the FTP connection limit on your FTP server. However, if you have already set unlimited "max connection" and other settings, this likely indicates that it could be something else. If the issue is with JetBackup, in some cases, the jbm.account.full backup folder can be corrupted and can cause failed backups with FTP destinations. The jbm.account.full folder is a temporary staging folder where the backup is generated before it's finalized into a snapshot and indexed by JetBackup, there isn't any risk to deleting this folder. You can try removing the jbm.account.full folder for the failing account to see if it resolves the issue. If this still does not resolve the issue, I would recommend opening a ticket with JetApps 24/7/365 support team by emailing support@jetapps.com.

Thank you,

Hello Adam
We have already open ticket, many days ago with cPanel and directly with JetApps.
Yesterday JetApp suippord removed the jbm.account.full folder but the error remained unchanged.

About the FTP Connection, is strange that from more than 10 days any night we have same error in same files, on many thousand of files.

If there are any advanced configuration that need on Truenas we waiting any help here..
But, we use this repository with other ftp solutions backup, without issue..

Thanks

Hello,

One of the other checks you can make would be to see if any of the directories/files that you are trying to back up contain any special characters in their name. This can cause unexpected issues to occur as there are specific limitations across various filesystems and storage destinations. For more information on which characters to avoid when naming files you can visit our documentation here: https://docs.jetbackup.com/manual/whm/Troubleshooting/filenameLimitation.html
