Fresh install of 11.3 or upgrade from 11.2-7?

I have a new FreeNAS Mini XL+ that has not yet been deployed and is currently running 11.2-U7.

1. Should I perform a fresh install of 11.3 or upgrade from 11.2-7?
2. Are there optimizations by iXsystems that I would lose by installing 11.3 from freenas.org?

If I were you, I would update now. You're missing security updates otherwise. No need to install 11.3 from scratch, just upgrade your existing system.

I would prefer upgrading from 11.2-7 to 11.3 and be able to go back to 11.2-7 in case of a problem. Another precaution don't upgrade your iocage jails or anything right after upgrade 11.3 to simplify the restore to 11.2.
