Anyone noticed any of these issues?

1. iocage list is very slow. Especially the first time after reboot (takes minutes to come back with results). After that, it's quicker but still 10seconds for 6 jails. (before 11.3, response was almost instant. )

2. The web gui indicates updates available and seems to want to rollback to 11.2-U7.

The first update was done via the web gui with download from the web. To be sure I rolled back, deleted the boot env, rolled back snapshots on the data pool and did the update via the web gui with a pre-downloaded tar file. The results are the same.

Edit: found NAS-104852 already opened for the update/downgrade issue.

I was just about to post a topic about the same thing. Iocage list was instant on 11.2 and on 11.3 it takes a while a chews a lot of disk before it shows the list. I wonder what changed?

The slowness with iocage list was reported in FreeNAS 11.3-RC1 and supposedly addressed/improved as per NAS-104472.

Some history below:

@Niels Erik certainly put some decent investigation into this.

My system has around 7000 entries when I grep for 'iocage' zfs list -t snapshot | grep iocage | wc -l That would certainly explain why it is slow the first time and faster the following times as zfs is caching metadata.

Still annoying as it introduces delays to every iocage command and impacts the startup of jails at boot.

Just went from 11.2-u7 to 11.3-RELEASE. Everything with this upgrade and release is great, except now doing anything related to jails in the UI or CLI is unbearably slow.

moving from 11.2-U7 to 11.3 resulted in a looped CAM: CCB error that forced me to terminate the process to reboot.
Decided to use a brand new USB thumb drive and install 11.3 fresh - worked, BUT all my jails were gone.
Applied saved config and the entire gui got scrambled.
Reverted back to 11.2-U7 and applied saved config = all jails gone
Not using plugin jails, ie all manually created jails *iocache upgraded to 11.2.-U7 that worked perfect * disappeared with 11.3 *cant even get it back to 11.2-U7 using saved config - Not happy Jane!!!!

Hi all, add me to this list.

I upgraded 11.2U7 > U8 > 11.3U1 and am now having slow iocage perf, both in the CLI and the WebUI.

Doing a zfs list -t snapshot | grep iocage | wc -l shows about 9500 entries.

Hi All
I did post this under general but would seem to be more relevant here, i have updated to 11.3 but since i have i have lost use of the left hand menu tabs. If i click on lets say the general tab it opens up the sub menus ok, but when clicking on a sub menu, update for instance, nothing happens. this is the same for all menus until you get to plugins, then they don't work at all, i can't even open shell, but then the guide tab works fine.

Confused

Sounds like a browser cache issue. To quickly sort that out you can try to open the web page in an incognito tab.

iocage list is very slow
I had noticed the same and was pleased to note that with 11.3-U2 it has returned to "normal" performance.
