Howdy,

I am trying to install FreeNAS on a Mac Pro (mid-2012)

Specs:
Intel Quad Core Xeon @ 3.2 GHz
8 GB PC3 10600E RAM (4x2GB sticks)
AMD Radeon HD 5770 w/ 1 GB
8 TB HDD Storage (4x2TB disks)
8 GB Flash Drive

I installed FreeNAS via DVD to the Flash drive, rebooted the machine, held down Alt and selected the USB Flash drive.

It boots up, gives me the option for FreeNAS 9.10.2, asks me if I want to do a Normal Boot, then hits me with the following lines:

KDB: debugger backends: ddb
KDB: current backend: ddb
RCPI:BIOS Error 9bug): A valid RSDP was not found (201660527/tbxfroot-261)
panic: running without device atpic requires a local APIC
cupid = 0
KDB: stack backtrace:
db_trace_self_wrapper() at db_trace_self_wrapper+0x2b/frame 0xffffffff81eeeb20
<db_backtrace() at kdb_backtrace+0x39/frame 0xffffffff81eeebd0
vpanic() at vpanic+0x126/frame 0xffffffff81eeec10
panic() at panic+0x43/frame 0xffffffff81eeec70
apic_init() at apic_init+0x111/frame 0xffffffff81eeec90
mi_startup90 at mi_startup+0x100/frame 0xffffffff81eeecb0
btext() at btext+0x2c
KDB: enter: panic
[ thread pid 0 tid 0 ]
Stopped at kdb_enter+0x3e: movq $0.kdb.why

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, did you ever solve this problem? I'm running into the same issue. My Mac is a 2009 upgraded to 5,1. I can get FreeNAS to install on Hard Drive, but I get the same error when it boots.
