This is probably a very basic question but I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
I have booted up Freenas on my usb and configured a IP address as 192.168.1....
But when I put it in my browser it says it cannot be found, what am I doing wrong? Have you got to leave the usb stick in when you search for the ip address?
I am using a ACER laptop with a intel core i5 processor and windows 7 home 64bit

Yes you have to leave the USB stick in. That is where your operating system is. Are you running freenas in the laptop or a different machine? You should not run it on your laptop that won't work very well.

I highly recommend you take a step back (or three) and carefully explain what you are trying to accomplish and how you are doing it.

I do not like the sound of the (rather cryptic) OP.
