Hello .....

I'm trying to prepare a guide for the correct settings
service iscsi release of FreeNAS 8
After having devoted much time to the previous version (7) I
I find many difficulties in interfacing of 4.01 and ESXi
iscsi target done with this "new" FreeNAS .... I would like to
you the settings of the various options to prepare for this service
a guide for everyone. I must say that, in spite of many
explanations found on the net (most of the previous
release, or certainly not the end of this 8) that if you really want to do
something just as useful and functional .... need to use
CPU, disks, etc. generation and minimum 2gb of ram ....

Thank you in advance
Regards to all

Thanks Tekkie, ..
I read the wiki several times on the ISCSI service and other pages very useful to solve small problems .... The problem is that I did not create the file in / mnt / and if you dedicate a disk (ada3) the service I ISCS also creates the file .....
I do not know if I was clear but before writing the post I did several tests and many times I reinstalled freenas8.

thanks fabio

Its unclear to me what problem (if any) you are having. I've setup iSCSI on my FreeNAS8 build without much trouble using both CHAP and mutual CHAP, only real challenge I had to 'google' was the secret which on Windows 7 follows the standard to the letter which means that it must be 12 bytes long at least.

Ok, thanks Tekkie...
problem solved ... the truth is that I tried to run
ISCSI service dedicating a device, and configure the part
EXTENT on the creation of files on the device ... that
obviously went wrong .. ;-)
Now everything is fine, if I have to find
tips a tool to check and improve the performance
then configure the eth cards.

thanks
