FreeNAS + IPMI

I recently upgraded my FreeNAS server with a Supermicro X9 board that has a dedicated IPMI, is FreeNAS capable of getting stats and sensor info from IPMI?

I saw on the FreeNAS network page it now lists IPMI and allows me to select the channel (1) and enter a password and DHCP/static IP in to I assume set up IPMI.

I can of course hit the IPMI from its static IP address and see the sensor data and all, but is FreeNAS able to gather info from it, and if so, what?

Within the shell or via SSH (like Putty), you can use "ipmitools". Here is a link for reference: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E36784_01/html/E36871/ipmitool-1m.html

As far as IPMI within FreeNAS, I personally don't use it and find it not that great. Instead I simply use my web browser to go directly to it.

oh ok thats coo, I figured it was the IPMI tool, I plan to do any monitoring via SNMP once I figure out if I can get my board and PSU to play nicely with power usage and all.

Bit curious about your build as E5-2670 v1 are dirt cheap these days.

E-ATX boards from Supermicro have non-standard hole placements. What case are you using with this?

Any idea how much power does it require?

I'm using a Supermicro SC846E16-R1200B superchassis. I had to move a few stand off's and I ended up having 1 that wouldnt line up at all.

As far as power, I'm not sure...but I know it has to be less then my old X8 build
