FreeNAS error not accessable in web interface. NEED HELP QUICK!

I have FreeNAS 9.3 running. (I don't need people telling me to update.) it was running stable.

I got and error this morning in my email and now I can't access the web interface. I can SSH into the device, and see network shares. Can access my Plex server and Owncloud servers just fine.

Is there a way for me to copy off the config file through SSH as I believe the USB drive is dying. NEED HELP QUICK!

The FreeNAS config is located at /data/freenas-v1.db.

Have you tried simply rebooting? I think the problem here is a bad cable hooked up to ada5.

I reset the cable and powered it back on. Still cant access web.

I can still access the file shares.

Yes. You should look into these scripts:

Github repository for FreeNAS scripts, including disk burnin

One of them makes a backup of the config DB so you can store it on the pool in case of a catastrophic loss of the boot pool. From there, if you want, you could copy it to your desktop by scheduling a copy on your desktop computer using something like Microsoft SyncToy:

which can be scheduled through the task scheduler in Windows.

You should post your hardware description.
It is also a good idea to upgrade to a small SSD for a boot device. They last much longer. It is not about speed.
Once you have the system booting where you can access the GUI, it would be a good idea to look at some upgrades. I would not suggest going from 9.3 to the latest 11.1 as that can cause problems, but you should upgrade to 9.10, then to 11.1, NOT to 11.2 as it is still in BETA. There are many very good improvements under the covers and the GUI is almost unchanged, so the learning curve is minimal.

You should post your hardware description.
It is also a good idea to upgrade to a small SSD for a boot device. They last much longer. It is not about speed.
Once you have the system booting where you can access the GUI, it would be a good idea to look at some upgrades. I would not suggest going from 9.3 to the latest 11.1 as that can cause problems, but you should upgrade to 9.10, then to 11.1, NOT to 11.2 as it is still in BETA. There are many very good improvements under the covers and the GUI is almost unchanged, so the learning curve is minimal.

Wish I could but I am using all the sata ports for data drives. My only option right now is use USB.

PS. That is, as long as you are not doing something special that might be broken by the update. Which brings me back to the question of why you have not upgraded before now?

I have had issues in the past upgrading FreeNAS, so I'm a little gun shy. It wasn't broke and has been stable for years.

I can look into upgrading it once I get it reinstalled.

OK so the saga continues.

I bought 2 new USB drives. One for the image and one for the install. Burned ISO via Rufus. Installed 9.3 on new USB. Installs and boots fine, but I can not get into the web interface. Tried setting NIC as DHCP or static. I am able to ping either IP but not able to access the web interface. Manually set gateway

So I thought it might be a hardware issue. I added a NIC to the NAS and still no luck. I'm really scratching my head here.... It has to be something else.

Then it finally hits me. I made some changes to my PFSENSE firewall a couple of weeks back. I setup a reverse proxy and in doing so it passed all internal traffic on port 80 through a transparent proxy. So in order to get it to work, I put the NAS IP in the bypass list. Wala.... It started working again.

OK, so now I updated the config file and everything is setup on a new thumb drive. I guess I can upgrade to a new OS version.
