Hi there,

I am new to FreeNAS and got troubles getting my scsi disk working on FreeNAS.
I have FreeNAS running as VM on a Proxmox Host, which is presenting
the SATA drives to FreeNAS as SCSI Drives. But FreeNAS doesn´t show me the drives.

I also tested if there is a way to install FreeNAS to a SCSI Disk - that did´nt work also.

Is there a way to get this working?
All other VM´s on the Host are working on SCSI-Disks whithout Problems.

Would be great if somebody could help me...

THX a lot!

regards
René

Hi René - Can you tell us which version of FreeNAS you're using 8.0? 8.01beta? i386 or AMD64 ISO for the install? Have you tried using 'dmesg' from the command line to see if you're disks are discovered there?

Hi,

I have tested it with 8.0 and 8.0.1-Beta4 (AMD64)
in both versions its the same.

I have attached the dmesg as txt file.

It looks like the disk (SCSI-5) is not be recognized.

Kind regards
Rene

THX a lot for the link and your Input!

I decided not to virtualize the storage machine.
It seems that there is no good working workaround for my
problem.

Maybe there is one in a future release of freenas or proxmox ;-)

Kind Regards and many thx!!

Rene
