FreeNAS Certified Systems and support contracts

In reading the forums today, I found a comment from a trusted source saying:
iXsystems used to sell support contracts for these, but we have discontinued this as of about a month ago.​

In looking at https://www.ixsystems.com/freenas-certified-servers/ it says:
3-Year Hardware Warranty with all software updates​

Could someone please explain the change that was made in a little more detail? As a person who started a four-month purchase process for two large boxes, I'd like to understand the change.

Got my answer: For a short period of time iXsystems was providing software support for FreeNAS, an option not many people used and was ended. The hardware support of the "FreeNAS Certified Systems" continues.
