I have a simple set up:
- 2x 2TB Seagate drives (brand new)
- 2GB RAM
- UFS format
- Raid Mirror
- No Jails
- No Plugins
- I am using an all Mac setup (Airport Extreme, Macbook, & iMac). The NAS is on an old PC.
You'll probably want to take a look at
this thread and then delete this post (just edit it to say "Deleted") and post again. In particular, saying "the NAS is on an old PC" is the kind of non-specific info that means that many folks won't bother to respond.
I have pretty much zero knowledge of Linux. So far I have used sudo rm -rf once to delete a file that wouldn't go away. Other than that, I know nothing about Linux. I'm usually good with computers, but Linux has me flummoxed. Your help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
FreeNAS isn't Linux-based, and some of the more prolific posters who are most likely to be able to help you can get a bit prickly when you imply that it is. So I suggest in your new post that you leave out the Linux stuff, because you'll increase your chance of getting a useful response.
None of this is meant as a criticism of you, by the way - just trying to provide some suggestions so that you can actually get some helpful advice.
Good luck.
Tom
