I had FreeNAs 8.02 working fine on the machine, it had been running for a couple of weeks, I shut it done most nights. We then had a few powercuts and it stopped working, would not boot, I tried reinstalling but would not take it. So I used a new Thumbdrive, again a 4Gb device and reinstall this time with 8.03 64bit. But exactly the same.

I have the boot options set to book from removable device 1st, cd ROM 2nd, and hard disk 3rd. But will not boot.

The Hardware has 8 Gb RAM and 4 500 Gb hard disks, which can all be seen. After all it was working fully before.

Anyone any ideas?

1) Are you plugging into the same USB port or a different one?

2) Is it on the rear panel (directly into the motherboard) or front panel?

I always disable boot from HDD in the BIOS. One less thing it has to do after the POST process. Mine is set to USB first then CDROM. Everything else is disabled. This has NOTHING to do with your issue..just throwing it out there.
