I'm not sure why when I erase files it's not showing the deleted space.

The recycle bin IS NOT enabled from what I can tell.

Any ideas? I've spent hours trying to figure it out.

I've deleted a couple of hundred gigs and it's not showing cleared space, even though the files are gone. Again, the recycle bin IS NOT enabled.

Thanks in advance.

Ever heard of snapshots?

Yes, snapshots are enabled.

Could this be causing the issue? Should I disable them?

I have snapshots enabled, every day, for a 2 week lifetime.

I have several systems that I create images of data, every day, and back up to the NAS. I also have it replicating to another drive in case of a failure.

It sounds like from how I have it set up, with snap shots, I wouldn't notice the free space for 2 weeks, is this correct?

Ok awesome! Makes sense!

So if I go and erase some of those snapshots it won't hurt anything I assume.

You'll lose the ability to roll back to those snapshots.. but yes.

I have a similar issue in that free space is not being seen, however, I do not have snapshots enabled. Recycle is also not enabled. Am I missing a step to free up space?
