ZFS Volume
ZFS DataSet #1 having 2 Shares
ZFS DataSet #2 having 0 Shares

When I copy a file into one share in DataSet #1 the file appears in both shares.

What am I doing wrong?

After some experimentation:

It appears to me that a dataset expects a single "root" folder. And multiple folders can be created within that single "root" folder. And files can be created within each the multiple folders without them being duplicated in the other folders.

Is this the way it should be done? Or, is there a combination of settings that will allow multiple folders at the root level of a dataset?

A share is simply a network name pointer to a directory.

If you pointed both shares to the root of the data set, you are mapping both share names to the same location.

The cifs share creation does not create the directory.
