I am using FreeNAS 8.2.0 and currently have only 2 x 1TB disk mounted as ZFS Volume (Mirror). Now I need to increase the available storage so what's the best way to do it?

1) add another 1TB HDD, will it increase the available capacity?

2) add 2 x 1TB HDD, how?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks noobsauce80

Your guide is very clear and now I understand the storage mechanism. I made the same mistake like other beginners to not fully understand the file system in FreeNAS before jumping into it. Anyway it means either I replace the drives with larger capacity or get more drives and create new Volume and add it to pool.

I think RaidZ is good enough for me.
