ESXi Vdisk for SLOG?

I hope this doesn't go down in flames but if ESXi is installed on an ssd and not taking up all the space, could a 32gb vdisk be created and used by freenas as the SLOG?

That is THE worst idea on FreeNAS implementation I've seen to date.

The only positive thing in your post is that you actually had a sense that it would end up in:

That means there is some hope for you. An effort is awarded:

1. Why do you think you need a SLOG?
2. Here is a read for you:

3. If 2. does not make complete sense to you and your application, you will not need a SLOG.

Must agree.

You need a SLOG device with Power Loss Protection. A virtual SLOG device is the opposite of that.

Not to mention the latency requirements for SLOG, which would be completely unacceptable in that sort of scenario.
