To old to be called a newbie, but haven't done a hardware iSCSI SAN before.
We have a Dell R710 II ESXi 5.5 U3 Chelsio T520-CR 2 10G Ports
direct connected (No Switch) 2 10G T520's Optical to
FreeNAS 11-U2 Certified system purchased from iXsytems with Chelsio T520-SO-CR
2 10G Optical ports.
Latest Chelsio Drivers loaded. ESXi sees both Network Interfaces and HBA Interfaces.
Yes I need my hands held right now, so be gentle!
Can someone provide an old man a checklist to configure ESXi best practices.
Step by Step instructions on the ESXi configuration.
Configure the NICS and HBA drivers. This is the first time I have done Hardware iSCSI.
We currently have a software iSCSI FreeNAS system attached via 1G NIC's.
I understand this configuration.
I have looked for several days maybe a week and have tried some ideas but hasn't been using
the hba interface. Maybe I have mean the How-To document some where.

Thanks if you can help. The wraith of a crazy old man if not!

I have had some luck I got the Chelsio hardware iSCSI working on 1 link.
I had to use the vSphere client to get IP address to stick and then finish the configuration in the web client. Web Client had problems with the default IQN that was assigned but the standalone client didn't have an issue. When I went back to the web client I was able to finish the configuration with no problem.
I am now working on how to do the second 10G link. Any advice is still much appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
