Hello,

I am trying to connect my FreeNAS installation to our windows 2012 r2 AD but every time we try we get this error " 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xa3' in position 2: ordinal not in range(128)"
I have triple checked all my network settings and they look correct.
index.php

This only happens when the domain name is correct, so it must be somehow connecting and getting an error message. If i use an incorrect Domain name it just says the normal "Unable to find domain controllers for ****** "

I am also hundred percent sure i am using the correct account credentials.

Help would be very appreciated!

Thank you

Never mind, i was able to solve this by using another AD account that did not use symbols in the password.

Thanks for the help anyway

Please create a bug report anyways at bugs.freenas.org so that the dev can fix the encoding of passwords with symbols. Post the issue number here.
