I updated the emby plugin earlier, and now it is continually switching itself off, and I don't know why.

Anybody have any ideas as to why this is happening

can you confirm the service is stopped with the command 'service emby-server status'

Also, there may be clues to the crashes in emby's logs in /var/db/emby/logs

Thanks for the reply, and I've just confirmed it has stopped with the service emby-server onestatus.
I then restarted it with service emby-server onestart, and then the onestatus cmd returned :
emby_server is running as pid 81093.

Emby is notlocated in the/var/db directory, andf don't know where it would be.

When I went to the Jails tab and the the Storage tab, I saw that the Plexmediaserver plugin was mounted but the emby plugin was not mounted, so it is mounted now. I would like think that that was the cuse of the problem, but wonder if emby server does stop, does it automatically get unmounted?

can you show the output the following command in the emby plugin jail 'ls -l /var/db'

no stopping of the plugin would not cause its jails storage(s) to get unmounted. but I could imagine storage that was unmounted could cause a plugin not to start or to stop unexpectedly

you earlier said emby wasn't in there, while your command output shows otherwise. I suggest you read the logs as I said earlier. Luke at the emby forum is really helpful and can help interpret them.

Yes I did say emby as I couldn't see it. I have just done cd /var/db, from a shell, and emby is still not showing as per the listing

[root@freenas ~]# /var
bash: /var: Is a directory
[root@freenas ~]# cd /var/db
[root@freenas /var/db]# ls
collectd nfs-stablerestart.bak samba4
dbus ntp samba4.20161005203052
dhclient.leases.em0 ntpd.drift sss
entropy ntpd.leap-seconds.list sss_mc
fontconfig nut sudo
freebsd-update pbi syslog-ng.ctl
hyperv pkg syslog-ng.persist
ipf ports system
locate.database portsnap zoneinfo
nfs-stablerestart samba
[root@freenas /var/db]#

The log files areall txt files, and how do I actually read or download them so I can get them on the emby site.

You aren't logged into emby's jail.

I would read the file with an editor like 'ee', or use 'more logfile.txt'

Thanks, but I googled how to read emby server log files in FreeNAS and then found that they could bve read in the emby server dashboard/logs.
I have posted the problem on the emby media server section forum.

Thanks

Just for information, I posted this problem on the emby media forums last week and didn't get any replies. Today I deleted the emby plugin version 3.0.8300 as well as the jail. I then installed the emby plugin version 3.0.720, and it has been running now for several hours without stopping. I also posted this on the emby media forum, and recieved a reply from Luke saying they would look into it.
