Embedded image download

The latest published manual refers to an image file which can be copied onto the flash drive directly without install from CD.

However in the downloads I could only find an ISO and compressed WebUI upgrade file.

Where can I download an image? Or should I grab the iso, mount it and the image is there somewhere?

Downloaded a PDF file off the web-site which had this info.

How crucial it is to run the installer on the machine the FreeBSD will be running on? Can I run the installer inside the VM on a completely different machine and then just use the USB drive on the target box?
