When I receive an email from my server for nightly status updates it either uses the default font (variable width) of my browser (won't change) or it sets a sub-optimal font in the header. Is there any way to tell it to use a mom-spaced font so that when I receive the email I can actually read the output? With all the character-aligned charts in the email it's hard to read when the font isn't correct. Thanks!

The issue is that it's likely not desireable to set the default font to be in the fixed-width family. If you use Gmail, changing the viewing font isn't a choice at all.

One option would be sending them as HTML, with the font enforced as fixed-width. I'd think wrapping everything in <pre> tags would be enough.

Yes, I am viewing through GMail on my phone and my browser where the font can't be changed. I'd like to embed the required font in the email. Where would I go to change the body of the emails sent?
