Does anyone know if SAS2008 or SAS2308 can support 6TB SAS drives?

Yes. I successfully connect 12TB HGST and 6TB WDC 'Black' disks to both my LSI-9211-8i equipped (SAS2008) and X10SL7-F (SAS2308) systems.

Maybe this might help to understand if you will have issues or not...

If that's the case, the 2008 is no good, the 2308 should be OK.
